DIY configurator — custom Shopify app for laser engraving
A custom-built Shopify app: customers design engravings live on real product photos — with text, motifs, their own images and freehand drawing. The merchant receives the finished engraving file.

Personalised wood, bamboo and slate products relied on back-and-forth by email: which text? Which font? Where exactly? Customers couldn’t picture the result — and every order needed alignment before the laser could start.
The DIY configurator is embedded in the Shopify theme (“personalise” button). Customers see their product with a centimetre ruler and a marked engraving zone and design with text, image, drawing and motif tools — over 500 motifs in categories like animals, sport, holidays or transport. In the admin the merchant creates several views per product, draws the engraving area as rectangle, circle, hexagon or freeform, sets limits for texts and images and picks the default engraving colour. After purchase each design is attached to the order per surface as a file.
